Fashion Photography: Exhibition Poster Series
I was approached by JETS, an events company to create a series of posters for upcoming fashion photography exhibitions in association with Falmouth University.
Given just the themes, I chose to photograph associated objects to back up the exhibition title. Keeping the layout and styling the same keeps the continuity between the posters, yet each is distinctly different.

Flash of Green
This is a search for a lost friend in a blizzard. The book is letterpress blind debossed to convey the lack of vision, and the use of other senses - touch. The flash of green is a defining moment; it’s when I last see my friend’s green jacket. The laser cut slip cover emulates this flash. The whole book uses no ink - just white on white until I finally come across my friend, where the last sentence and inside back cover is silkscreened fluorescent green.

Vintage Bike Ride
A University set brief to create promotional material for an event in your hometown. The challenge was the complication very different themes: Bikes, Vintage, Summery, Christmas.
The three fold leaflet is used to it's advantage - you can choose in what order people see things. It allows the complicated themes to be split up: It's a bike ride; it's vintage themed; and it's raising money for the Cristmas lights.
The use of a dynamo perfectly illustrates the three key themes. A dynamo is a vintage bit of equipment that creates light throught the energy of cycling, much like the purpose of the event - to raise money for the Christmas lights by cycling.

Average Typeface
How do you create an average typeface?
For me, it was all about the process, not the aesthetics of the final letterforms. I chose commonly found 12 typefaces, and aligned them centrally at a 10% opacity. The excess was trimmed, and the remaining shape solidly filled.
The irony is that by setting out to create something average, the result is anything but.

Book Jackets: Millenium Trilogy
This was a collaborating project in which I teamed up with friend and Illustrator Oscar Mitchell. We re designed the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series as we thought the titles had a lot of potential imagery, and were not that impressed with the original covers.
They are very dark books, so plenty of black was used in the covers. We tried to keep it minimal, using one particular geometric shape and colour as a theme for each. They feature the eye of a dragon, a smoking fire and the rear of a hornet.
